“Making this record pulled me out of the darkness, and saved my life,” says Harvey “The Snake” Mandel. He wrote eight of the songs, all imagined in his head while battling cancer and devastating infections. He recorded the final ten tacks in his Electric Snake Studio over the last two years. “I don’t like to brag,” says Harvey, “but technically, playing-wise, this is definitely some of the best that I’ve ever played. I just heard it in my mind and knew the magic I wanted to make. Now I give it up to you.”

This is Harvey’s 23rd full-length album release, following his single “Cashmere” released on Earwig in 2024. He has been working on this record for nearly two years while recovering from vicious cancer that many didn’t think he’d beat! Snake Walk explores themes of experimental and psychedelic blues rock. We’ve worked hard to craft a cohesive and engaging listening experience, and we’re hoping you’ll find it worth your time.

About Harvey Mandel
Legendary guitar virtuoso Harvey Mandel Mandel, aka “The Snake,” is a renowned American guitarist famous for his innovative approach to electric guitar playing. A professional at twenty, he played with Charlie Musselwhite, Canned Heat (including at Woodstock), The Rolling Stones, and John Mayall before starting a solo career. Mandel is one of the first rock guitarists to use two-handed fretboard tapping, and continues to perform throughout the world, captivating audiences with his inventive style of electric guitar playing.
