Anthony Palmer

Anthony Palmer plays lead guitar on Johnny Drummer’s Bad Attitude (Earwig CD 4967) and Angels Sing The Blues (Earwig CD 4972), with Drummer, Liz Mandeville, Mary Lane and Shirley Johnson.

Anthony Palmer is a Chicago West Side native who came into his own as a blues musician with contemporaries Michael Coleman and Melvin Taylor.  Nicknamed “the Fret Burner” by Jimmy Burns because of his searing technique, Tony works steadily in the Chicago area now, after a career mostly on the road touring Europe, Asia, Canada and the U.S..  He backs luminaries such as Burns, Katherine Davis, Matt Skoller and Byther Smith.  In the past, he supported Otis Rush, Sugar Blue and Bobby Rush, among others.
